With over 40 years of combined coaching experience, the McKean’s focus their efforts on providing excellent sports opportunities for youth and adults of all ages/skill levels.
In 2008, they started the Utah Ice Volleyball Club and the initial season was a huge success with 14 teams competing in USA volleyball. In their second year, they grew to 26 teams and had one of the largest club volleyball program in the state. From it's inception, the Utah Ice Volleyball Club had a primary goal of providing highly competitive training and programs in an extremely positive environment. Mike and Tammy have coached and directed competitive and community programs in Volleyball, Basketball, Football and Track. Their training efforts have helped over 40 athletes receive collegiate scholarships in Basketball and Volleyball as they continue to have excellent relationships with many collegiate coaching staffs. Coaching at the junior high, high school, competitive and club levels, they have experience great success and have enjoyed working with many amazing athletes.
Mike works in the commercial banking industry and competitively coaches basketball, volleyball and football. Their focus continues to be athletic inclusion – offering additional opportunities for more youth to participate in quality athletic programs.
The McKean’s have four children, Jordan, Conner, Keysha and Kacy. As a family, they participate in competitive Volleyball, Football, Softball, Baseball and Basketball. They enjoy riding horses, farming, camping and lots and lots of sporting events. They currently reside in Plain City, Utah.
